Launching 11 new e-services through the new website
Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs (ZHO) has launched its new website. Social interaction and communication channels will be opened through this website with the beneficiary people of determination and their parents and all members of the community in general. Such website in order to achieve the highest level of public satisfaction with the services provided by ZHO through its care and rehabilitation centers in Abu Dhabi.
The website was launched by the chairman and members of ZHO’s executive committee; HE Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, HE Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, and Mr. Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, ZHO’s Acting Secretary General. This website enables easy access to the services provided by ZHO together with the activities and events organized by ZHO at the level of all the affiliated sectors. In addition, the website enables the blind and people of determination to have access to the website’s contents and services through advanced technologies represented in a narrator of information provided in the website.
HE Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi confirmed that ZHO, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, seeks to provide the highest level of care, attention and follow-up. He also confirmed that ZHO seeks to keep up with the efforts exerted by our leadership in order to improve the conditions of people of determination and to double the care, rehabilitation and integration into the society provided to them in order to participate in the march of advancement and development of civilization from all aspects for the sake of our country, which foundations were laid out by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in peace.
HE Mariam Al Rumaithi said that ZHO’s new website is consistent with the requirements of Abu Dhabi eGovernment’s systems. She also added that the website is developed in line with the process of continuous development in all of ZHO’s sectors. Such process aims to achieve the highest possible level of public satisfaction in light of the rapid developments witnessed by our society in various fields, especially in the sector of the use of information technology.
International SpecificationsAbdullah Al Humaidan, ZHO’s Acting Secretary General said that the new website is distinguished by following TRA’s specifications and standards in the designing international websites. In addition, the new website reflects ZHO’s institutional identity. This website represents a qualitative and technological leap that commensurate with the latest developments. Such website highlights ZHO’s services and objectives in a sophisticated manner and facilitates browsing, especially for people of determination. The website also includes all the information of interest to the browser site through its unique topics and services.
He also mentioned that the website was developed based on the standards of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which helps the blind people of determination and the visually impaired as well as members of the community to surf the website and access the content easily. In addition, the standards of the global search networks were adopted in this website. The chairman and members of the executive committee and ZHO’s Secretary General thanked all the entities and institutions that helped in launching the website and also thanked the work team that worked on development of the website in the desired manner. In addition, they hoped that all the institutions operating in the field of serving the beneficiary categories of people of determination would interact with ZHO in respect of social interaction.
As for the benefits of launching the website by ZHO, he confirmed that there are many benefits, including the presence of two versions of the website, one in Arabic and the other in English in order to allow non-Arabic speakers to know information about ZHO and its services. Such benefits also include the ease of access to the services provided by ZHO together with the activities and events organized by ZHO at the level of all the affiliated sectors. The new website highlights the various services provided by ZHO and it objectives in a sophisticated interface that includes the information needed by the customers from people of determination and parents or those who want to know more about its role, especially with respect to participation and e-services that were subject of considerable attention in the website.
E-ServicesZHO’s new website provides a range of services to the customers, including application for issuance of a monthly report for the student affiliated to a care and rehabilitation center, application for employment, application for membership at a sports club for people of determination, and application for provision of educational materials in Braille, whether to individual or entities. In addition, the website allows application for provision of translation in sign language, application for reserving an appointment for performance of a comprehensive evaluation, application for obtaining a “Khidmati” Card, and application for practical training of the students of educational institutions. The website also provides the opportunity for members of the community to apply for volunteering at ZHO.
Requesting organic productsThe new website enables buying organic products from Zayed Agricultural Center for Development and Rehabilitation affiliated to ZHO. Such products have a special brand and include cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, strawberries, etc. Such products also include animal products such as tilapia, eggs and goat cheese. Such Center is one of the first centers in the world that employs the abilities of people of determination using the modern agricultural systems in order to train them on the principles and skills of agricultural professions and make them professionally independent in order to be capable of earning a living and relying on themselves. The Center produces through the “Aquaponics” project, which is based on integration between fish and cultivation of vegetables. This helps in provision or organic vegetables in the market through adoption of an agricultural method that saves 90% of the water used in agriculture.
The website highlights ZHO’s news, events, activities, and media or specialized publications. In addition, the website introduces the services provided by ZHO’s care and rehabilitation centers and their geographical locations. The website also includes definitions of special education terminology in order to raise the level of culture of dealing with people of determination in the local community and raise the level of awareness of the professional terminology of special education.The website presents ZHO’s vision, mission, organizational structure and strategic plans.
