On Thursday, May18th, 2017 Al, Al Ain Primary Services Center, affiliated to Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs celebrated the graduation of a new batch of the students of the Early Intervention Unit. The ceremony, held in cooperation with Zayed House for Islamic Culture, included the graduation of ten female employees from Linguistics Department in cooperation with the Continuing Education Program at the UAE University. Abdullah Abdul ‘Alali Al-Humaidan, Acting Secretary-General of the Organization praised the great attention paid to the “People of Determination” by the leadership represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE , His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President , Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. He pointed out that Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is exerting its utmost efforts to develop the services provided to the disabled categories within its centers spread throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The Organization works on rehabilitating and training these categories, and seeks to provide them with the appropriate employment opportunities, to utilize their energies and integrate them into society, which is the ultimate objective pursued by the Organization in the context of its overall strategic plan. The Acting Secretary General referred to the Federal Law No. 29 /2006 on the rights of the persons with disabilities, as amended by Federal Law No. 14/ 2009. He praised the launch of the national policy of empowering the “People of Determination” in its six parts, which confirmed and embodied these rights and privileges. The wise leadership adopted the approach of providing the highest standards of care and rehabilitation t such categories, in accordance with best international practices. The Acting Secretary General indicated ZHO’s pioneer role in the care and rehabilitation of “People of Determination” in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He stressed the great attention paid by ZHO’s leadership to the quality of the services provided in the Early Intervention Stage, which is the most important in the lives of the students for its positive impact on their various aspects of mental, emotional, social, linguistic and behavioral development, which benefits the individual, family and society. Abdullah Al-Humaidan praised the positive role played by the family's cooperation at such stage. Such role is one of the most important foundations and means of action to achieve outcomes and results that are reflected on the child's future. He conveyed his thanks and appreciations to all parents who support the Organization and called them to work hand in hand to promote the level of services provided to “People of Determination”. The Acting Secretary General expressed the Organization’s pride for graduating the first batch of the Functional Training Program of Speech and Language Therapy in its centers of care and rehabilitation. The said program was held in cooperation with UAE University - Continuing Education Program. It came under the On Job Program inititative adopted by the Organization under directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs. These programs are intended for the purpose of career development for UAE citizens and preparing them scientifically and practically to the level where they can effectively perform their duties and functions. He stressed the keenness of Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care to achieve excellence and leadership, through investment in local human capital, pointing out that this batch of graduates is the first batch at the level of the UAE, whose graduates received Specialization Accreditation Certificate from Abu Dhabi Health Authority. Al-Humaidan congratulated the graduates on obtaining this certificate and on this great achievement, and wished them success, excellence and progress. At the end of his speech, the Acting Secretary General thanked all those who contributed to the Organization and played an active and supportive role in realizing these successes and achievements, including students’ parents, sponsors and supporters, the UAE University and the teamwork of Al Ain Center for Primary Care with its different departments, units and divisions. The ceremony was followed by the National Anthem of the United Arab Emirates, a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, t the Secretary General's speech and the popular Yola folklore dance presented by the students of Al-Refa'a School as a gift to the students of the center. Further, the Center’s students Khalifa Al Seraihi and Omer Al Blooshi performed a musical piece using supporting technology. The ceremony also included a video presentation on the services of the Early Intervention Unit at Al Ain Primary Services Center, and another video about the Linguistics Program Training for female graduates , within the Continuing Education Program in collaboration with the UAE University. At the end of the ceremony, Abdulla Al-Humaidan, Acting General Secretary of the Organization, accompanied by Abdullah Ismail Al-Kamali, Acting Head of Special Needs Sector, and Mr. Saud Ayed Al Otaibi, Director of Al Ain Primary Services Center, handed over certificates and gifts to graduates of Early Intervention Unit students and Linguistics program graduates, along with Appreciation Certificates to sponsors , supporters and faculty staff of the Continuing Education Program at the UAE University. The event was attended by a large audience of the parents , graduates and faculty staff of the UAE University who were invited by the local community institutions and the Organization's centers in Al Ain.
